Russia Reports 5,195 New Cases of Coronavirus in Past Day

Russia’s coronavirus cases rose by 5,195 in the past day to 1,025,505, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday, TASS reported.

According to the crisis center, the daily growth rate in the past 22 days did not exceed 0.5%.

Some 620 new cases were recorded in Russia, 192 in St. Petersburg, 167 in the Moscow Region, 155 in the Rostov Region and 153 in the Nizhny Novgorod.

The lowest growth rate in the past day was recorded in the Chukotka Autonomous Region (0%), Moscow and the Moscow Region (0.2%), the Kamchatka Region, the Kaluga Region, the Tula, Kursk and Smolensk Regions, the Tyva Republic and the Chechen Republic (0.3%).

Currently, 166,736 people are undergoing treatment in Russia.

The number of coronavirus patients who were discharged from hospitals in Russia in the past day reached 2,823, and the total number of recoveries grew to 840,949.

Some 82% of those infected in Russia recovered, according to the crisis center.

In the past day 963 patients were discharged in Moscow, 150 in the Voronezh Region, 125 in the Moscow Region and 81 in the Volgograd and Murmansk Regions.

The number of deaths from the coronavirus in Russia grew by 61 in the past day versus 110 a day earlier. A total of 17,820 people have died from the infection or 1.74% of all those infected.

In the past day, 13 fatalities were registered in Moscow, 10 in St. Petersburg, 4 in the Omsk and Altai Region, and in another 18 regions the death toll did not exceed 3.
