Russia Sends Military Doctors, Virologists, Equipment to Italy

The first Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) with military virologists, doctors, and equipment onboard flew to Italy to help combat the coronavirus, TASS informs citing reports from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“The first Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew from the Chkalovsky military airfield with Russian military specialists and equipment to the Italian Republic to assist in the fight against coronavirus,” the department said.

The Ministry of Defense specified that a military transporter will deliver to the Italian air force base Practitioner de Mare, 30 km south-west of Rome, “an advanced group of military doctors, specialists in the field of virology and epidemiology with modern equipment for the diagnosis and conduct of disinfection measures.”
