Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan boost cooperation, bilateral tourism

Engineer Amir Muqam, the prime minister’s advisor for political and public affairs as well as national heritage and culture, stated that there is significant potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan in a variety of sectors, particularly the tourist industry, APP reports.

Muqam spoke at a major event on education, culture, and tourism that was jointly hosted by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan, the ministry of national heritage and culture, and the educational adviser private limited at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

Muqam claims that during the Prime Minister’s latest trip to Kyrgyzstan and meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of States, the two officials emphasized the need for closer cooperation in trade, investments, energy, and people-to-people contacts.

They concentrated on furthering the development of high-level interactions, legislative connections, and military and security links, he claimed.

The advisor claimed that commerce is crucial for the two economies. He said that Pakistan exported $2.81 million to Kyrgyzstan in the previous year. The majority of them were medicinal products, then sports equipment.

“More than 11,000 students alone are enrolled in the medical universities and colleges there”, Muqat added.

Both the Kyrgyz ambassador to Pakistan and the secretary of national heritage and culture, Fareena Mazhar, were present.

Ulanbek Totuiaev, the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, spoke about the significance of holding such events for bilateral ties between the two countries. He also focused on the future of mutually beneficial cooperation, highlighting the role of economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation as a tying factor between friendly nations.

According to him, the fact that Kyrgyzstan hosts thousands of Pakistani students and offers education is evidence of the two nations’ friendly relations.

The event was addressed by Aftab Ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of Pakistan Tourist Development Corporation (PTDC), who provided a thorough overview of Pakistan’s tourism potential and its government’s attempts to encourage tourism. Additionally, he emphasized the mutually beneficial cultural ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
