At a summit on Monday, EU leaders voted to ban Belarusian airlines from traveling to EU airports and flying over the EU, as well as urging European airlines to halt flights in the country’s airspace.
According to the declaration, the summit “calls on all EU-based carriers to avoid overflight of Belarus; calls on the Council to enact the required steps to prohibit Belarusian airlines from overflying EU airspace and preventing flights operated by those airlines from landing at EU airports.”
According to a report by Russian news agency TASS, this decision has not yet taken place and must be ratified by the Council at the ministerial level.
