OPEC Countries Discuss Possible Conference in June

OPEC countries plan to hold a general meeting in June in the form of a video conference, with the exact date still being negotiated, Radio Sputnik reports with citing its source.

Members of the organization after the meeting in April agreed to hold the next scheduled meeting in the form of a video conference on June 10.

“There are plans to hold a meeting in June. But the exact date is unknown until there has been a discussion about this. It can be earlier or later than June 10. There is no specific date yet,” the organization said.

He added that some OPEC countries still cannot give a preliminary assessment of the oil production deal due to the epidemiological situation.

The new OPEC agreement entered into force on May 1. In the period between May-June, production should decrease by 9.7 million barrels per day, 7.7 million in the second half of the year, and 5.8 million by the end of April 2022.
