Moscow District Court Fines Google 4mn Rubles

A court in Russia penalized Google 4 million rubles ($54,400) for failing to remove prohibited information from the internet, bringing the total amount of fines owing this year to 16.5 million rubles.

According to a spokeswoman for Moscow’s Tagansky district court, Google LLC was found guilty under Section 2 Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code and penalized 4 million rubles, Sputnik News reports.

The search engine giant has already been penalized for failing to delete appeals for extremism and refusing to keep data of Russian users in the nation as required by data localization legislation.

Google was penalized 14 million rubles on five counts on Tuesday, according to the court spokeswoman. As a result, the company’s dispute with Russia might cost it 26.5 million rubles.
