Ministry of Sports and RFU Sign Deal with Kemerovo Region on Football Development

The Ministry of Sports of Russia, the Russian Football Union (RFU), the government of the Kemerovo region and the regional football federation signed an agreement on cooperation and interaction in the field of football development, TASS reported citing the Sports Ministry.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the Norm of Life” of the national project “Demography” and the strategy for the development of football in Russia until 2030. The document will help to systematize the work on the development of football in the region, to distribute areas of responsibility between the RFU, the Ministry of Sports, regional authorities and the federation, will create conditions for increasing the number of people involved in football in the region.

“By the end of 2024, it is planned to build an indoor full-size football arena in the region, replace the pitch at the Kemerovo stadium Shakhtar,” said Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin. “Another sports school will be opened in the region, new competitions, qualified coaches and referees will appear. I am confident that joint work with the RFU, the government of Kuzbass and the regional football federation will be effective and fruitful.”

RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that one of the leading sports schools in the region is planning to assign the status of “RFU Regional Center”. “In the Kemerovo region, more than 42 thousand people regularly play football,” he said. “There are 45 football departments in the region, competitions are held among men’s teams, women and veterans. At least 20 new teams will be organized to participate in regional and all-Russian competitions.

As part of the further development of the reserve training system, we plan to assign the status of the “RFU Regional Center” to one of the leading sports schools in the region, on the basis of which a regional center for training specialists will be formed, two more schools will receive the status of the “Children’s Football Center”, and all institutions will be able to count on financial and methodological assistance to the RFU “.
