Turkmenistan’s President to Visit Kazakhstan

Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the president of Turkmenistan, will travel to Kazakhstan on a state visit, according to the Kazakhstani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AKIpress informed.

On October 4, political meetings between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were conducted by video conference, presided over by Vep Khadzhiev, deputy foreign minister of Turkmenistan, and Ermukhambet Konuspayev, deputy foreign minister of Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the potential for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to continue to grow.

They paid close attention to the agreements made in the wake of Presidents Kassym-Joomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan’s state visit to Ashgabat in October 2021 and Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan’s state visit to Kazakhstan in October 2022.

The parties also discussed the Turkmen side’s participation in the impending sixth CICA summit, the Council of CIS Heads of State, and the Central Asia-Russia summit.

Following the meetings, the parties decided to maintain close communication between their foreign ministries in order to advance their strategic alliance with Kazakhstan.
