Kazakhstan Removes Barriers for International Goods

Kazakhstan plans to maximize the opening of posts for the movement of international goods, the country’s Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubaev said via teleconference last week, New Europe reports.

“During the emergency, some restrictions on the movement of vehicles were introduced. However, there were no restrictions on the movement of international goods,” Zhamaubaev said.

Kazakhstan’s Finance Minister noted that the country began to open borders and remove barriers to trade. “We are now starting to open borders. On the border with Kyrgyzstan and China, we will open posts as much as possible. We will remove all barriers to move international goods,” he said.

Earlier, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed to open all checkpoints after a traffic jam from a convoy of heavy trucks formed on the border.
