Kazakhstan to boost international airfare in 2023

According to the Prime Minister’s press service, Kazakhstan will continue to execute the open skies policy and add additional direct international airfare in 2023 in an effort to draw new foreign airlines, Astana Times informs.

In particular, during the spring-summer navigation season, flights are anticipated to operate from Astana to Doha, Aktau, and Shymkent to Ankara, Almaty, and Aktau to Medina, Astana to Baku, and Shymkent to Dushanbe.

The nation intends to boost flights from Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Turkistan, and Atyrau to Istanbul, Antalya, Baku, Tbilisi, Phuket, and Male.

Kazakhstan intends to expand the volume of international airfare to India, China, the United Kingdom, Bodrum, Batumi, Heraklion, and Podgorica as well as to Pakistan, opening new links from Almaty to Karachi and Lahore and adding more flights between Almaty and Delhi, Chengdu, and Tbilisi and Podgorica from Astana.

Flights on the routes between Astana and Bishkek, Aktau and Yerevan, Almaty and Samarkand, and Shymkent and Kutaisi are anticipated to restart at the same time.

The low-cost airline AirAsia X, based in Malaysia, expects to start flying from Kuala Lumpur to Almaty in the spring and summer, while Thai AirAsia will fly from Bangkok to Almaty.

The fifth freedom flight, which is used when an airline established in one nation flies a trip between two countries, will be used by Iran’s Qeshm Air to begin running flights on the Almaty-Tokyo route.

The national airline of Air Astana is debating the possibility of establishing a bi-weekly service between Almaty and Tel Aviv and Israel.
