Russian President Vladimir Putin has lauded the high standards and ecological sustainability of the TurkStream gas pipeline, which he launched on Wednesday together with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Energyland.info reports.
“The construction of TurkStream used cutting-edge innovative technologies which allowed us to ensure maximum economic efficiency of gas transmission, guarantee safety and environmental friendliness of using the pipeline,” Putin told the official launch ceremony in Istanbul.
He emphasized that “construction workers were using the most advanced hardware and equipment while setting a new world record of underwater pipe-laying speed – more than six kilometers in a day.”
Putin thanked everyone who worked on designing and constructing the pipeline. “Your utmost professionalism, great and dedicated work allowed us to complete the TurkStream project with great quality and on time,” the president told specialists.
The Russian President also said it is certain that Russia and Turkey will implement many more joint projects, and that he is grateful to Turkish authorities for the political will they showed in constructing TurkStream.
“Of course, I would specifically thank Turkish authorities, the Turkish president for timely issuance of all permits and licenses necessary for the pipeline construction, <…> for the political will shown by the Turkish leadership in realizing projects of national importance that meets national interests of their country,” Putin said.
