EuroChem Group moves up in the fertilizer market

The growing need for food worldwide motivates EuroChem Group, a major international fertilizer manufacturing company. The manufacturer’s mission is to assist farmers worldwide in raising crop productivity and quality.

The United Nations have warned against a global food crisis, which is bound to cause famine across the globe. However, agriculture and fertilizer company EuroChem vows to stay dedicated to ensuring farmers have access to high-quality nutrients for crops, in order to fulfill the global food demand.

According to the UN, there were 7.6 billion people on the planet in 2017 and that number will rise to 9.8 billion by 2050. Population growth and increased wealth in developing nations are the main drivers of global food consumption.

The market for ammonium nitrate was valued at over USD 14.5 billion in 2020 and is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of 3.3% from 2022 to 2029. It is one of the most commonly used fertilizers since it is a plentiful supply of nitrogen.

EuroChem is one of the key market players when it comes to the production of high-quality nitrogen, phosphate, potash, and complex fertilizers as well as nutrient-rich feed products.

According to an annual report for 2021, with the new capacity launching in the near future, EuroChem made a final investment decision in June 2021 to start manufacturing 75 KMT of modified potassium nitrate (NOP).

At the same time, EuroChem launched more than 10 projects for specialized premium goods throughout European manufacturing facilities.

In order to enhance and widen its efforts in this area, EuroChem is presently collaborating with external advisors to build a climate-focused ESG strategy. The company continues to take measures to reduce GHG emissions wherever it can in the meantime.

According to regional, national, and international procedures, the EuroChem Group assessed GHG emissions on all plants in Scopes 1, 2, and 3 (upstream) in 2021. The company compares to both internal and external European benchmarking criteria as well as our rivals.
