On December 15, Kherson was still being shelled. The roughly 80 strikes that took place over the course of 24 hours targeted energy infrastructure, totally cutting off Kherson city from power sources, a ReliefWeb press release states.

A humanitarian worker for the Ukrainian Red Cross died as a result of these attacks.

Several cities, including Kharkiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih, reported missile assaults on the morning of December 16. Also attacked was Kiev.

The missile strikes caused the Ukraine’s electricity grid to be cut off. The regions of Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv were left in the dark. The Invincibility Centers continued to be active in Kharkiv.

In Ukraine, 5.9 million people are reportedly internally displaced, a modest down from October’s estimate. 43 percent of all Ukrainian households reported having spent all of their savings, which IOM used to emphasize the depletion of resources.

In all of Ukraine as of December 8th, 13.6 million people had received humanitarian aid. According to Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths, demining operations remain a top priority.

All 27 Member States and the four Participating States are providing aid to Ukraine through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which is being coordinated by the European Commission. Through the UCPM logistic hubs in Poland, Romania, and Slovakia, around 77,000 tonnes of assistance from these nations and supplies from rescEU stockpiles have been sent to Ukraine.
