Denys Shmyhal, the prime minister of Ukraine, and Natalia Gavrilița, the prime minister of Moldova, reached an understanding about their nations’ cooperation in strengthening border controls and air defense, Ukrinform reports.
He further said that during the discussion with his colleague, some significant agreements were made.
In particular, Ukraine and Moldova will keep removing administrative and procedural obstacles to the free flow of people and goods; they anticipate signing a contract for the construction of a road bridge over the Dniester River on their shared border by the middle of 2023; they will also activate the Ukraine-Moldova-Romania dialogue format; and they will establish a bilateral working group to coordinate their entry into the EU.
Shmyhal stressed that the people of Moldova, like those of Ukraine, are aware of the “warm embrace of the Russian world” and that they are currently experiencing the effects of Russia’s war on our nation.
The Head of the Government of Ukraine emphasized that “the triumph against the Russian aggressor rests on the peaceful future of Ukraine and Moldova, and we are doing all necessary for this.”
According to reports, a falling missile was discovered close to the town of Briceni on December 5 according to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs.
