Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan send humanitarian aid to Türkiye

Yerbol Karashukeyev, Kazakhstan’s minister of agriculture, reportedly stated that Kazakhstan is willing to send food help to Türkiye.

“Helping a brotherly country is important to us. If the need arises, we must provide assistance. We are ready to help. For this, a special request from Türkiye must be received”, Karashukeyev said.

The minister continued by stating that Kazakhstan is home to a unique foundation that offers support from outside. In the event that Türkiye makes a request, the foundation’s services will be used. This offer is in addition to one already made to help with the search and rescue operation in Türkiye.

Kazakh rescue workers have already arrived in Gaziantep and are already on the field.

In addition, Azerbaijan has dispatched more humanitarian supplies to Türkiye in response to the terrible earthquake.

Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, gave the order for another plane to fly to Türkiye with supplies. Tents, warm blankets, heaters, and a mobile field hospital are among the humanitarian items.

Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts have been launched in an eight-story building in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeast Türkiye by rescuers from the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) of Turkiye and the Emergency Situations Ministry of Azerbaijan, per Azernews.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reports that in the morning of February 6, 2023, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake was felt in central Türkiye.
