According to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Almaty is a symbol of Kazakhstan’s independence, The Astana Times reports.
The Sovereignty Declaration and the proclamation of independence, among other important historical occurrences, took place in Almaty, he stressed.
Tokayev stressed the value of the industrial sector and investment activities while talking about the economic expansion of Almaty. The industrial sector has expanded by 13.9% since the beginning of the year, while investments have surged by around 20% to 930 billion tenge ($2 billion).
Tokayev emphasized that 70% of all investments are made in real estate, transportation, and trade and cited a lack of economic diversification as the cause of a slowdown in the rise of people’s salaries.
The President also emphasized the significance of fostering investment and expanding the IT sector. He emphasized that current digitization and environmentally friendly technology should be used to advance the industrial sector.
Tokayev gave the cabinet instructions to ensure that Almaty’s growth stays at the level of 5% in light of the city’s expanding population.
The President emphasized how many bright Kazakhs are rising to fame overseas.
