Kyrgyzstan to buy coal from KarTransUgol

According to Trend, and 24.kg news agency, the Kazakh KarTransUgol LLP has secured a deal to sell coal to Electric Stations OJSC, the primary generator of electricity and heat energy in Kyrgyzstan, AzerNews reports.

According to this deal, Kyrgyzstan will get 400,000 tons of coal supplies from Kazakhstan, with the first shipment arriving in October and the delivery schedule lasting through the spring of 2023.

The autumn-winter heating season can begin with the Bishkek thermal power plant in full operation. More than 253,000 tons of coal are present today. The consumption on daily basis equals approximately 1,500 tons of coal, OJSC noted electric stations.

Notably, one of Kazakhstan’s main coal suppliers is KarTransUgol, which transports coal by rail throughout Kazakhstan, the CIS, and the Baltic States.

98% of Kyrgyzstan’s power is generated by the business Electric Stations OJSC, which also distributes it to both local and foreign clients and registers the correct frequency in the Central Asian United Energy System.

As a result of the restructuring of Kyrgyzenergo JSC, Electric Stations OJSC was established in 2001 with a 93.65% state ownership portion of the authorized capital.
