Kazakhstan-Qatar Investment Forum results in investment deals worth $625 million

At a Kazakhstan-Qatar Investment Forum held on October 12 in Astana, the two countries inked 13 bilateral agreements worth a combined $625 million, according to the press office of Kazakh Invest, Astana Times reports.

Investment agreements were reached for the industries of tourism, agriculture, education, healthcare, information technology, and communication. They were also reached for the industries of dairy and poultry.

Several large corporations in Qatar, including Hassad Food, Qatar Mining, Estithmar Holding, Baladna, SNOONU, and Metito Qatar, provided information on investment prospects in the country.

The arrangement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Qatar on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, which was signed on October 12 by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Emir of Qatar, will expand the pool of potential investors and fortify ties between the two nations, according to Kazakhstan’s deputy foreign minister Almas Aidarov.

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit, which was held in Astana on October 12–13, was the catalyst for the event, which was organized by the Samruk Kazyna National Wealth Fund and Kazakh Invest.
