Moldova, German State of Hessen to boost cooperation

At a meeting between Prime Ministers Natalia Gavrilița and Boris Rhein in Germany, the potential for enhancing cooperation between the Federal State of Hessen and the Republic of Moldova was discussed, MOLDPRES reports.

According to MOLDPRES citing the Government’s Communication and Protocol Directorate, the officials stressed the significance of fostering bilateral relations on a number of levels where the parties’ interests diverge. They also emphasized that several members of the Moldovan diaspora are based in the State of Hessen.

The Prime Minister mentioned the potential for enhancing economic relations during the negotiations, stressing Moldova’s desire to draw investors from the State of Hessen. In this regard, the parties stressed the necessity of developing a unified platform, through which Moldova could inform businesses from Hessen about the investment prospects available in the nation.

“The Republic of Moldova is open to foreign investors, and the government has taken a number of steps to foster a favorable investment environment so that multinational corporations may find the ideal surroundings for growth. We aim to draw in new investment sectors, such the one for electrical or pharmaceutical products,” Natalia Gavriliţa remarked.

The executive head praised the collaboration between the Hessen State Police and the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) from Moldova during the negotiations, highlighting the role played by the German side in bolstering the capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI). The State of Hessen will soon give two automobiles and 100 safety vests to the IGP of the MAI as a contribution.

For his part, Boris Rhein thanked the government and people of the Republic of Moldova for achieving candidate status for the EU. He expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Moldovan authorities to the Ukrainian refugees.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa visited Germany for business from January 6 to January 8.
