The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has hosted specialists from Uzbekneftegaz to exchange knowledge on the use of new technologies for good workovers and to learn about SOCAR’s experience with projects to increase hydrocarbon production under risky service conditions. This is according to Uzbek media sources.

The trip was conducted in accordance with the plan set on July 5 by Uzbekneftegaz and SOCAR to increase collaboration in the oil and gas industry.

The delegation members initially had a discussion with Yashar Latifov, vice president of field development at SOCAR, and the company’s management, where they addressed matters of concern to the parties in the roadmap’s execution.

Additionally, as part of the working tour, the team stopped by SOCAR Upstream, where they learned about the projects’ experiences with risk-service and production-sharing agreements related to expanding hydrocarbon output.

Additionally, Uzbekneftegaz experts went to SOCAR NIPI Neftegas LLC and spoke with Fahraddin Ismayilov, director of the institute. The difficulties surrounding the well workover were reviewed during the conference.

Along with visiting Azneft PA, the experts learned about the operations of Binagadi Oil Company, Salyan Oil Ltd, and Shirvan Operating Company LTD and were briefed on workover operation planning, techniques for enhancing oil and gas recovery and repair, and insulation projects.

Given SOCAR’s wealth of experience in carrying out the aforementioned projects, it is intended to create a channel for experience sharing for potential future implementation in Uzbekneftegaz and invite SOCAR to take part in the choice of contractors for offerings to ramp up hydrocarbon manufacturing in 25 fields of Uzbekneftegaz.
