GTrD Supported Cargo Transportation Launched by TRACECA countries

TRACECA [Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor] member nations launched the first trial shipment of products utilizing the global transit document (GTrD), the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission’s press office informed Trend on October 15, Trend News Agency reported.

The third meeting of the working group on testing the GTrD project, which included officials of state bodies and customs agencies from TRACECA nations including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, took place on October 10 according to the press office.

The introduction of the GTrD pilot project, the training program, and the Technical Agreement with TradeLens [a supply chain platform jointly created by IBM and GTD Solution Inc.] were among the important topics covered at the discussion, according to the press service.

Additionally, the press service reported that details regarding a single center for managing the pilot project and the process for arranging the collection and handling of incoming information, including the development of a special website and the application programming interface (API), work on handling incoming data, and a number of other issues, were provided.

The discussion also covered topics related to TradeLens platform training for prospective pilot transportation participants.

At the working group’s next fourth meeting, which is slated to take place in January 2023, the outcomes of the initial pilot transports utilizing GTrD are anticipated to be taken into consideration.
