NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday that we must stand by Ukraine for as long as is necessary while speaking to lawmakers from the Christian Democratic Union, Christian Social Union, and Group of the European People’s Party, Ukrinform reports.
Stoltenberg made it clear during this meeting, held at the European Commission in Brussels, that the Allies needed to be ready to assist the nation in the long run.
The Secretary-General praised the part played by lawmakers in educating and interacting with the public, ensuring that public sentiment continues to be largely in favor of Ukraine.
Additionally, Stoltenberg referred to the important lessons to be learned from the conflict that Russia is waging against Ukraine, which include the necessity of giving Ukraine the tools it needs to succeed, continuing to invest in defense, fostering resilience, and upholding transatlantic unity.
This gathering was held as part of the regular interactions the Secretary-General has with lawmakers from every Alliance nation.
“We are determined to continue supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes and also make sure that Ukraine wins this war. So Mr. Putin can stop this war any second. If he decides to stop the war, there will be no more war. There will be peace discussions,” said NATO Deputy Secretary-General Mircea Geoană last week, underlining the Alliance’s commitment to the war-town nation.
