US, China call for closer cooperation with Mongolia

During her attendance at the 59th Munich Security Conference, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia Batsetseg Batmonkh had a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, AKIpress reports.

The effective collaboration and growth of the strategic partnership between Mongolia and the United States were acknowledged and applauded by the parties.

Blinken acknowledged the productive visit of Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya to Mongolia at the start of February and indicated a wish to maintain a high level of reciprocal visits between the two nations.

On February 6, the USA’s support in protecting children was acknowledged by the Mongolian Foreign Minister Batsetseg Batmonkh.

Greater coordination and collaboration between China and Mongolia on global and regional issues was also urged by Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, China Daily reports.

In a brief encounter with Minister Battsetseg at the conference in Munich, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said that China and Mongolia, as neighbors, should intensify their contacts and cooperation.

According to Battsetseg, she was eager to continue the pace of high-level bilateral exchanges this year and broaden China-related collaboration.
