Japan provided 259 generators and componentry to Ukraine between December 2022 and February 2023 as humanitarian help, according to a press release.
The equipment has been dispersed to Ukrainian energy sector businesses that have suffered losses as a result of armed attacks from Russia.
Russians are still attacking Ukrainian energy facilities all around the nation. According to German Galushchenko, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, they are completing restoration work, assuring the operation of energy firms, and maintaining the energy front thanks to the assistance of the international partners.
The coal, gas, transportation, and electrical industries, as well as district heating businesses in various regions of Ukraine, received help from the Japanese side.
German Galushchenko stated that they are grateful for the support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and The Nippon Foundation and that this will help to increase Ukraine’s energy security and sector stability.
