Kanat Tumysh named new Deputy Foreign Minister

Kanat Tumysh has been named as the new Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Head of State’s directive, Kazinform reports citing Akorda.

Mr. Tumysh, who was born on November 7th, 1975, has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Tumysh held a number of positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan throughout his career in diplomacy. He also worked at the Kazakhstani embassies in Turkey and Hungary. Tumysh was also the Deputy Executive Director of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA).

Kanat Tumysh has previously served as the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to South Africa.
