Moldova reports increased number of cases of respiratory infections

In the most recent months, 519 flu cases and 108,933 instances of acute upper respiratory infections were reported in the Republic of Moldova, MOLDPRES reports citing Ala Nemerenco, the minister of health, who revealed the information today during a news conference.

According to the health minister, children under the age of six are the most impacted and experience the greatest difficulties.

“The disease’s beginning is followed by complications that develop quite swiftly. It is not typical for the patient to experience a brief sickness before developing difficulties. The majority of cases, particularly in youngsters, begin with a really high temperature that is uncontrollable by the administration of medications for fever,” added the source.

The official said that the COVID epidemic, during which everyone wore masks, avoided close contact, and spent more time at home, preceded the current outbreak of infections.

The minister said that no limits would be put in place but urged the community to adhere to the same guidelines as they did during the COVID epidemic to prevent viral infection.
