Türkiye’s interior minister vows country will keep helping migrants

The country’s interior minister declared on Sunday that Türkiye will keep contributing to the solution to migrants as well as the migratory problem, Anadolu Agency reports.

According to Soylu, migration has not destroyed any countries; on the contrary, it has made them richer. Soylu stated at a celebration of International Migrants Day, which was commemorated internationally on December 18, in the nation’s capital, Ankara, “We are doing our part and will continue to do so.”

All migrants have a narrative, according to Soylu, who also remarked that “we must show to the world that wealth, power, and money are not everything.”

Turkish institutions will work hard to guarantee that immigrants are assisted in assimilating to our cultures, laws, and norms while they are in Türkiye, the minister continued.

In particular, those fleeing conflict and persecution in their home countries, Türkiye has been a crucial transit country for irregular migrants trying to enter Europe to begin new lives.

Türkiye already accommodates 4 million refugees, more than any other nation in the world, and is enacting new border security measures to humanely stop an inflow of migrants.
