The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is sending vital winter-related humanitarian aid to Kherson city in Ukraine as children and families continue to suffer the worst effects of a terrible war, a press release writes.

Since the city and its surroundings became accessible, UNICEF has sent three humanitarian convoys to Kherson with almost 150 metric tons of essential life-saving goods, including winter-related items. Two generators that were essential to sustain medical facilities during frequent power outages were included in the extensive package of humanitarian aid, together with medical supplies and equipment to help the restoration of the health services. Blankets, children’s winter clothing, and hygiene necessities.

Authorities say that 100,000 people were living in the area as of November 11, 2022, when Kherson became accessible; these people had been without access to essential facilities since February 2022.

Additionally, UNICEF has been providing daily drinking water deliveries to the impacted populations in the rural parts of Kherson oblast ever since it became available and will keep doing so for the ensuing weeks.

The humanitarian assistance from UNICEF will assist in promptly meeting the requirements of those lacking necessities, such as blankets, children’s winter clothing, hygiene products, and medications, even throughout the cold.
