Russia Intercepts Fighter Plane to Escort U.S. Bomber

According to Russian news media quoting the Russian military, a Su-27 fighter plane was dispatched to escort a US B-52H bomber over the Baltic Sea.

The Su-27 was intercepted, according to TASS, in order to identify the target and prevent it from crossing the Russian border.

It was classified as a strategic bomber B-52H by the pilot, who escorted it over the Baltic Sea, according to the report. It went on to say that the Russian border had not been crossed.
